Job Purpose:

The Financial Analyst’s primary role is to analyse the past and present financial data of multiple publicly listed companies and estimate future revenues and expenditures. Your duties include predicting the return on investment for different stocks and business ventures, writing financial reports and collecting industry research to inform decision making. You will also be responsible for gathering data to understand the trends affecting a specific type of product, geographical region, or industry to help our clients make important investment decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Analyze historical and current financial data to understand different company’s financial status.
      • Organize data into accessible reports and perform various types of analysis using key metrics such as yearly growth, return on assets, return on equity and earnings per share.
      • Review all non-legal pertinent information about prospective deals and evaluate capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, investment opportunities, rate of return, profit plans, operating records, financial statements, etc.
      • Develop predictive financial models to support decision-making.
      • Analyze processes to identify gaps that can improve profit margins.
      • Track current financial data for multiple companies to alert stakeholders in case of deviation.
      • Provide guidance in buying or selling stocks, making investments, and generating funds.
      • Study industry-specific research and available data to predict trends.
      • Create written reports that enable client management teams to make strategic decisions to meet business goals.
      • Develop forecasting tools to automate financial data analysis.
      • Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
      • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications.
      • Coordinate with other members of the finance team to review financial information and forecasts.
      • Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing results as needed.
      • Establish benchmarks for financial processes.

 Qualifications and Technical Skills:

      • A bachelor’s/master’s degree preferably with a major in finance, economics, or statistics
      • Proven experience working as a financial analyst.
      • Proven proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and financial software applications.
      • Excellent reporting, presenting and communication skills.
      • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
      • Ability to work with large datasets.
      • Strategic thinking and organizational skills
      • Proven analytical and financial modeling skills.
      • Strong research and problem-solving skills.
      • Good communication and teamwork skills.
      • Availability to work minimum 40 hours a week.
      • Will require travel for client projects.

 Preferred Qualifications

      • CFA credentials
      • Proven expertise in principles, design and procedural methods used in big data analysis.
      • Proven experience in project management tools.
      • Hands-on experience working with statistical analysis and statistical packages.
      • Knowledge of corporate finance, information analysis and financial diagnosis.
